This Works Red Light Body Wrap Device

This Works has added a wearable red light therapy device to its range, the Red Light Body Wrap, available exclusively at thisworks.com for £100. The launch marks a significant step for the brand, which has built its reputation over more than two decades in bodycare and oils.

The device uses two clinically recognised wavelengths: 660nm red light, which works at the surface level to support smoother-looking skin, improved tone and scalp condition, and 850nm near-infrared light, which penetrates deeper to support firmer, healthier-looking skin. Used together, the combination targets fine lines, skin firmness, the appearance of scars and stretch marks, uneven texture including cellulite-prone areas, and scalp health. Recommended use is three to five times per week on clean, dry skin or scalp.

In a panel of 26 participants over 12 weeks using the device alone, 81% saw improved skin appearance, 77% said skin felt smoother and 69% said their skin looked firmer.

The launch is part of a broader initiative called Project Red Light, which pairs the device with a topical Red Light Power Serum containing Coenzyme Q10, designed to work in tandem with the therapy rather than independently of it.

The development was driven in part by the personal experience of This Works CEO Dr Anna Persaud, “My personal journey with red light therapy began over five years ago following my second hip replacement. During recovery I was looking for ways to support healing, reduce inflammation and improve mobility. After discovering red light therapy and using it consistently, I noticed a significant improvement in scar healing, reduced inflammation and greater ease of movement. That experience sparked a deeper curiosity, and together with our NPD team at This Works, we began exploring the science behind red light therapy and its growing use in beauty and skincare” she commented.

This Works was founded in 2003 by Kathy Phillips, former beauty director of British Vogue, and built its name on sleep and bodycare products formulated with essential oils. The brand has since expanded significantly under Dr Persaud's leadership, with the Red Light Body Wrap representing its first foray into device technology.
