The serum expands the professional skincare brand’s Brighten Collection and combines a 20 per cent concentration of the stable vitamin C derivative 3-O Ethyl Ascorbic Acid with tranexamic acid, arbutin, niacinamide and HydroPeptide’s patented Micellar CellRenew-16 peptide technology.
Rather than concentrating solely on existing dark spots, the multi-pathway formula has been developed to address four key stages of pigmentation while also improving dullness, uneven texture and visible signs of skin ageing. The result is intended to be a brighter, smoother and more resilient-looking complexion, with antioxidant support to help defend the skin against environmental stress.
At the centre of the formula is Micellar CellRenew-16, HydroPeptide’s patented peptide delivery system. The technology is designed to improve hydration and support collagen, contributing to firmer, smoother-looking skin while enhancing its overall vitality. The 20 per cent 3-O Ethyl Ascorbic Acid provides the serum’s principal vitamin C action. Chosen for its stability, the ingredient helps brighten and even the appearance of the complexion, supports collagen production and protects against oxidative stress. Tranexamic acid works on pathways associated with excess pigment formation and inflammation, helping to reduce the appearance of dark spots and uneven tone. Arbutin complements this by inhibiting tyrosinase activity, an enzyme involved in melanin production, while niacinamide helps improve discolouration, reinforce the skin barrier and protect against environmental aggressors.
In a 12-week clinical study involving 25 participants, the serum produced a 31 per cent improvement in skin clarity and a 29 per cent improvement in visible brightness.
