BY TERRY Matcha Mist Elixir
BY TERRY has launched Matcha Mist Elixir, a bi-phase milky face and body mist that sits between skincare and makeup. The product is built around matcha and is designed to revive tired, stressed-looking skin, leaving a lightweight, non-sticky finish the brand describes as glass-skin radiance. It is shaken before use, then sprayed, and is intended as a quick reset step for the face or body.
The mist is a two-phase formula, separating into layers that combine when shaken. At its centre is a matcha complex, which energises and refreshes the skin, paired with centella asiatica to soothe and support the skin barrier. The finish is glossy rather than tacky, and the brand says the formula provides 24-hour hydration and can be used as a multi-care step across both face and body.
The product draws on Korean skincare rituals, both in its glass-skin finish and in the wider move toward hydration-led, treatment-style makeup. BY TERRY has a long association with hyaluronic acid and skincare-makeup hybrids, and Matcha Mist Elixir extends that approach into the mist format.
Founder Terry de Gunzburg said: "Matcha Mist Elixir is more than an evolution, it's a true skincare revolution. I wanted to introduce a new gesture: simple, instinctive, universal."
The launch lands as matcha moves well beyond the drinks aisle and into beauty and wider culture. The global matcha market sat at around 4 billion dollars in 2025 and is forecast to keep growing strongly through the rest of the decade, and the ingredient has become a recurring reference point in colour cosmetics, social media and fashion. We’ve seen this with the hashtag #MatchaMakeup passing 218 million views on TikTok, Huda Beauty releasing an Easy Bake Powder in a matcha-inspired shade, and a matcha-green pair of Adidas trainers worn by Molly-Mae Hague selling out, as signs of how far the trend has travelled.
Sitting alongside this is the continued rise of the glass-skin philosophy, with consumers favouring hydration, skin health and natural radiance over heavy coverage. Matcha Mist Elixir is positioned at the meeting point of those two trends, the matcha ingredient story and the skincare-led makeup finish.
BY TERRY was founded in 1998 by French makeup artist Terry de Gunzburg. Before launching the brand, de Gunzburg spent 15 years as creative director of YSL Beauté, where she developed the Touche Éclat radiant highlighter in 1992, one of the most widely copied products in modern beauty. She built BY TERRY as a luxury line bridging makeup and skincare, with a long-running signature in hyaluronic acid across both categories, and the brand is sold in the UK exclusively through Space NK.
Matcha Mist Elixir is priced at £60 and available at Space NK.
