MAKE UP FOR EVER HD Skin Balancing & Perfecting Foundation

MAKE UP FOR EVER has expanded its HD Skin complexion collection with the launch of HD Skin Balancing & Perfecting Foundation, a new water-based formula developed to adapt to dry, normal, combination and oily skin.

Created to balance hydration and oil control within a single formula, the foundation delivers up to 24 hours of hydration while helping to regulate excess shine throughout the day. Its weightless texture melts into the complexion, creating a smooth, natural-looking result without feeling heavy or mask-like.

The launch responds to the growing demand for complexion products that offer lasting coverage without compromising the appearance or comfort of the skin. More than 430 formulas were tested during the development process to create a foundation capable of responding to different skin types, ages and complexion concerns.

HD Skin Balancing & Perfecting Foundation offers buildable medium coverage, allowing users to apply a lighter layer for a more natural result or build the formula where greater correction is required. The finish remains skin-like and softly matte, helping to blur visible pores, fine lines and uneven texture while maintaining the natural dimension of the complexion.

A new wet-pigment technology helps the foundation remain even throughout the day, maintaining its coverage, colour and finish without caking or settling into fine lines. The formula is also transfer-resistant, waterproof and designed to withstand heat, sweat and humidity.

At the centre of the formula is MAKE UP FOR EVER’s Skin-Balancing Complex, combining hyaluronic acid and peptides to help retain moisture and smooth the skin.

Niacinamide helps refine the appearance of pores, while natural-origin cherry flower extract soothes the complexion. Natural-origin blueberry seed oil provides additional comfort, supporting a finish that remains flexible and comfortable during wear.

The non-comedogenic foundation is suitable for all skin types, including skin that is dry, oily or combination. Its self-adapting action is designed to maintain moisture where the skin needs hydration while controlling excess oil in areas prone to shine.

The foundation is available in 40 shades spanning very fair to deep complexions, with cool, neutral, warm and warm-olive undertones. The expanded undertone selection includes shades specifically developed for complexions that can be difficult to match using traditional warm or neutral categories.

The shade system uses the letters C for cool, N for neutral, W for warm and WO for warm olive, with individual shade descriptions providing additional guidance on depth and undertone.

For lighter coverage, one pump can be applied from the centre of the face and blended outwards using a foundation brush. A damp sponge can be used to create fuller medium coverage while maintaining the formula’s seamless, skin-like result.

HD Skin Balancing & Perfecting Foundation is available in the UK in a 30ml format, priced at £40 through Sephora UK.
