TrichoCare Education and Colourstart Join Forces to Launch Free Allergy Awareness Course
Allergy Awareness Week runs 22–28 April, and for hairdressers thinking about the best way to protect themselves, their staff, and their clients, there is no better place to start than with high quality knowledge. To mark the occasion, TrichoCare Education have teamed up with Colourstart, the UK's leading professional allergy test, to give away a to give away £10,000 of free Allergy Awareness training, for hairdressers who want who want to develop their skills.
What's great about this course is that it's online and you can dip in and out as you wish. All the information is bite-sized, so it's super easy to grasp and you have the option of saving each stage as you go along and working through it at your own pace.
This one‑hour online course gives hair professionals a practical introduction to allergy: how the immune system works, the main types of allergic reaction (including to hair colour ingredients such as PPD), the difference between irritation and allergy, common triggers in everyday life, and clear steps to take if a client or colleague shows signs of an allergic reaction.
Allergy is a big problem, and it's growing. It's estimated that a third of people in the UK live with an allergy. Allergy is the most common chronic disease in Europe. Up to 20% of those with allergies live with a severe form of their condition, and struggle daily with the fear of a possible attack, which can be severe. If you're a hairdresser you are more likely to encounter allergy in your everyday work, both in yourself and in your clients.
The course is normally £65, and on completion, you can download an official TrichoCare Education CPD certificate. It is specially designed for anyone who works in the hair profession: stylists, colour experts, barbers, juniors, apprentices and reception teams.
