Skin Rocks The Strong Acid

Skin Rocks has expended its Exfolitone Acid Toner Range with the launch of its most advanced addition; The Strong Acid.

The Strong Acid combines alpha-, beta- and polyhydroxy acids into a single high-strength formula, targeting skin texture, dullness, fine lines and wrinkles, blackheads, congestion, visible pores, hyperpigmentation and uneven skin tone. Glycolic, lactic and mandelic acids work alongside shikimic and phytic acids to deliver AHA-powered resurfacing, supported by gluconolactone as a PHA, while salicylic acid works to decongest the skin from within the pore lining. The formula is set at an optimally low pH for effective resurfacing. It is recommended for use up to three times a week, applied after cleansing on a dampened cotton pad. The Strong Acid is explicitly for experienced acid users only and is not suited to those new to exfoliating acids or those with sensitive skin.

Speaking at the launch, founder Caroline Hirons argued that exfoliation becomes increasingly important during midlife, when slower cell turnover contributes to dullness and uneven texture. "Using five different AHAs means we can target dullness, texture, uneven skin tone and fine lines from different angles," she said. "We also included BHA in the formula, as this exfoliates the pore lining and helps with blackheads, congestion and breakouts."

The Strong Acid joins The Gentle Acid and The Control Acid within the Exfolitone range, giving three clearly differentiated options based on skin type and acid experience.

Skin Rocks was founded by Caroline Hirons in 2022, following a career of more than two decades as an aesthetician and a significant online following built through her blog, launched in 2010. The range is focused on clinically proven, results-led formulas that dismiss trends in favour of efficacy.
