Czech & Speake are proud to announce the launch of a limited tribute edition of its iconic No.88 fragrance in honour of the late Ozzy Osbourne, a figure whose legacy resonates deeply with the spirit of the brand.

Sought out by those who appreciate distinctively different fragrances, No.88 was discovered by Sharon Osbourne and worn and favoured by the late Prince of Darkness, Ozzy Osbourne for many years. To honour the late Ozzy Osbourne’s life and love of No.88, a limited tribute edition of the fragrance will be launched worldwide on 1st May, in partnership with a charity close to the Osbourne family's heart, Cure Parkinson’s.

“I don’t know exactly how long Ozzy wore No.88, but I’m sure it was at least 30 years. I remember discovering it like it was yesterday. I went into the Czech & Speake shop on Jermyn Street because I was looking for bathroom accessories. I piled up some samples to take home to Ozzy, and I’ll never forget that as soon as he smelled it, he said to me, ‘I’d like to smell like this for the rest of my life!’ And he did! Everywhere he went, he was known for it. Everyone talked about it - his friends, his bandmates, his business colleagues, everyone - and they would always say how good he smelled.” Sharon Osbourne.

First unveiled in 1978 to great acclaim, No.88 was the debut fragrance from the British independent fine fragrance company. The scent embodied a bold new vision for British perfumery. Decades later, No.88 remains Czech & Speake’s most iconic and popular fragrance globally. Its distinctive and complex scent combines top notes of bergamot with middle notes of geranium, rose otto, cassie, frangipani and base notes of vetiver and sandalwood. No.88 is classified within the woody, mossy olfactive family.

Czech & Speake’s unique holistic approach to perfumery concept and design, looked to move away from more traditional English scent profiles to create a more sensuous, exotic fragrance prioritising exceptional ingredients at any cost.

The presentation box will feature a bespoke black sleeve accented with a purple foil print as a subtle design tribute to Ozzy’s band, Black Sabbath. Each will be priced at £250 with £50 of each sale going directly to support Cure Parkinson’s. Available in limited quantities this edition will be on sale exclusively via the brand’s own website, honouring both the timeless character of No.88 but also the enduring influence of icon Ozzy Osbourne.
