Ameela has expanded its regenerative skincare portfolio with the launch of the Wild Salmon PDRN Mask, introducing a topical application of the salmon-derived DNA technology behind its professional polynucleotide treatments. The new mask marks a move beyond Ameela’s established injectable polynucleotide portfolio, giving consumers and practitioners another way to incorporate PDRN into skin-quality and recovery-focused routines.
Its arrival comes at a time when PDRN has moved rapidly from the aesthetics clinic into mainstream skincare, appearing across serums, creams and masks as consumers increasingly seek products inspired by regenerative aesthetic treatments.
From injectable polynucleotides to topical PDRN
Ameela has built its reputation around injectable polynucleotides derived from wild salmon DNA, with products including Ameela Eyes, Rejuvenation and Face used professionally to support skin hydration, elasticity, texture and overall skin quality. The company originally launched its polynucleotide platform in the UK in 2023, following a rebrand from Nucleadyn to Ameela. Its injectable formulations use purified salmon-derived DNA fragments, with the wider portfolio now expanding to include topical and microneedling-compatible regenerative products.
PDRN – polydeoxyribonucleotide – is related to, but distinct from, the longer-chain polynucleotides used in injectable skin treatments. Ameela defines PDRN as a lower-molecular-weight form of DNA fragment, ranging from approximately 50–1,500 kDa, while its injectable PN formulations contain longer chains above 1,500 kDa. The smaller molecular size makes PDRN more suited to topical and superficial delivery, while higher-molecular-weight PN is typically administered intradermally.
Designed to complement professional treatments
Ameela Exosomes combines 50mg of wild salmon PDRN with 120 billion plant-derived exosomes from grapefruit and watermelon, alongside growth factors, Hexapeptide-8 and a collagen-supporting complex. It has been developed for topical application alongside procedures such as microneedling, where microchannels can support more superficial delivery of the active ingredients. UK clinics are beginning to pair the treatment with the new Wild Salmon PDRN Mask. Current professional protocols include microneedling with Ameela Exosomes followed by the PDRN mask and LED therapy, with one clinic incorporating the mask as a 15-minute post-microneedling step.

Topical PDRN offers surface-level conditioning, hydration and recovery, with professional procedures such as microneedling able to create temporary channels that support superficial delivery.
