Nailberry BioGlow LED manicure system

Nailberry has launched BioGlow, a new at-home LED manicure system that pairs its own curing lamp with TPO- and HEMA-free hybrid colour, as the nail industry adjusts to tighter rules governing TPO in cosmetic products.

Since 15 August 2026, cosmetic products containing TPO can no longer be placed on the Great Britain market for the first time. Products already placed on the market before that date may continue to be supplied until 14 February 2027. Gel manicures have not been banned, but reformulation is changing both professional systems and the way home users shop for long-wear nail colour. TPO and HEMA are often presented together in product marketing, although they perform different roles. TPO is a photoinitiator used to start the curing reaction, while HEMA is a methacrylate monomer. Nailberry confirms that every formula within BioGlow is free from both ingredients.

Rather than a traditional gel, BioGlow is a lamp-curing hybrid system that combines the glossy finish and extended wear associated with gel manicures with an application closer to conventional polish. The vegan formulas contain between 65 and 73 per cent ingredients of natural origin and meet Nailberry’s “25-free” formulation standard. The colour is applied over a primer and base coat, cured in two thin coats and sealed with a top coat. Nailberry estimates that a complete manicure takes around 30 minutes and provides more than 12 days of wear.

At the centre of the system is a 48W LED lamp operating at wavelengths of 365 and 405 nanometres, with a stated radiant power of at least 30mW/cm². Its LEDs are enclosed in quartz glass, a design intended to improve curing performance while limiting heat build-up.

The application begins with a primer that air-dries for 15 seconds. The base coat and each of the two colour coats are cured for one minute per hand, followed by a two-minute cure for the top coat. Nailberry recommends thin layers, careful coverage at the sidewalls and separate attention to the thumbs where needed.

BioGlow has also been designed to simplify removal. A cotton pad saturated with the system’s acetone-free remover is held against each nail using the supplied clips. The colour is then removed after five minutes, without filing or prolonged acetone soaking.

The complete starter set contains BioGlow Primer, Base Coat and Top Coat; three LED-curing colours in Candyfloss, Noirberry and Pop My Berry; the 48W lamp; an acetone-free remover; a natural nail file; and removal clips. Each component can also be replenished separately.

Founded by Sonia Hully in 2012, Nailberry introduced its L’Oxygéné air-drying polish in 2014, followed by its Bio-sourced colour formula in 2025. BioGlow is the brand’s first move into an at-home LED-curing manicure system.
