Joonbyrd Mood Jellies
The dermatologist-founded bodycare brand is moving into functional fragrance with three portable solid scents designed around Calm, Confidence and Bliss. With its latest launch, Joonbyrd wants to make that connection between scent and emotion a more intentional part of the beauty routine.
Mood Jellies is a new collection of functional solid fragrances from the dermatologist-founded brand, developed using insights from neuroscience and designed to promote wellbeing through scent. The idea is simple: a portable fragrance you can sweep over pulse points whenever you want to shift the mood, whether that means catching a moment of calm, summoning confidence before a meeting or reaching for a quick lift during the day.
Founded by dermatologist Dr Alexis Granite, Joonbyrd has built its identity around combining skincare science with sensorial self-care. Mood Jellies extends that philosophy beyond bodycare and into fragrance, bringing together scent, skincare and emotional wellbeing in a single format.
The collection draws on findings from functional MRI studies, EEG, and physiological monitoring that examine how particular scents affect brain areas associated with emotional wellbeing. Those insights informed the individual fragrance profiles, with each Mood Jelly designed around a different positive emotional state.
For Dr Granite, the launch also explores what she describes as the skin-mind connection. “Scent has always fascinated me as a dermatologist, because it can shift how we feel almost instantly,” she says, explaining that Mood Jellies were conceived as an easy-to-use wellness tool for moments ranging from preparing for a big meeting to winding down before bed.
Calm takes the grounding route, combining violet, vetiver, orris, cacao, and cedarwood to support feelings of relaxation. Confidence is brighter and more energetic, with peach, saffron, oak moss and ambroxan. At the same time, Bliss pairs apple and jasmine sambac with woody notes and labdanum in a composition created around joy and optimism.
It also includes a skincare element. Each formula contains Biotech Bacillus Ferment, derived from enriched thermal waters off Italy’s Amalfi Coast, which Joonbyrd says helps reduce cellular skin stress while supporting mood and positive emotions. Suitable for all skin types, the solid formulas are intended to be reapplied throughout the day by sweeping them directly over pulse points.
