MAC Cosmetics Stainglass Lip Tint

M·A·C has launched the Lustreglass Stainglass Lip Tint, a gloss-and-stain hybrid that pairs a high-shine finish with a longer-wearing colour stain. It is one of the new additions to an expanded Lustreglass collection.

The launch marks the franchise's first move into the lip tint and stain format. Lustreglass began in 2021 with the Sheer-Shine Lipstick, a reworking of M·A·C's long-running Lustre Lipstick, and grew into a line spanning that lipstick and a lip gloss. The Stainglass Lip Tint extends it into a category the brand had not previously occupied under the name.

The tint is a lightweight, watery formula that gives a glossy finish while leaving a transfer-resistant stain intended to hold through the day. It delivers sheer, buildable colour for a fuller-looking finish without a sticky feel, and is applied with a soft-tip applicator. The breathable formula contains raspberry seed oil to support the lip barrier and keep lips comfortable and moisturised through wear.

Lip tints and stains have become one of the faster-growing areas of colour cosmetics, driven by demand for long-wear, low-maintenance colour that stays comfortable, and by the influence of K-beauty. Analysts value the global lip tint and stain segment at around 1.5 billion US dollars in 2026 and forecast steady mid-single-digit annual growth over the next several years, with gloss-stain hybrids and water-based tints singled out as a particular area of expansion. Where a traditional stain trades shine for longevity and a gloss trades longevity for shine, the hybrid format is an attempt to offer both, in step with the glossy, long-wearing lip looks dominating 2026.

The tint comes in 10 sheer, buildable shades: Xoxo, Sizzled Peach, Business Casual, Posh Pit, See Sheer, Traffic, Sneaky Pink, Zoomies, Soda Poppy and Grape Vinyl.

It is part of a wider Lustreglass expansion that also brings a reformulated Sheer-Shine Lipstick, five new Lipglazer Glossy Liner shades and a new FaceGlass Hydrating Skin Gloss.

The Lustreglass Stainglass Lip Tint is available now nationwide.
