K18 FutureIQ Biomimetic Hair Longevity Serum

K18 has launched FutureIQ, a biomimetic hair longevity serum aimed at the early signs of premature hair ageing, marking the brand's first product in what it calls the hair longevity category. The nightly scalp serum targets increased shedding, early greying and scalp changes, which K18 frames as connected symptoms of the same underlying biological decline rather than separate concerns.

FutureIQ is built on a new proprietary technology the brand calls MultiVital, which combines biomimetic peptides, a root anchoring complex and antioxidants. The formulation works across several pathways at once, reducing the breakdown of the root proteins that hold hair in place, supporting the signalling involved in melanin production, and strengthening the follicle's defences against oxidative stress resulting in the appearance of greys being delayed, shedding is reduced and the scalp barrier is improved. The serum is designed for nightly application to the scalp.

Clinical testing shows that after three months of nightly use, up to 19,000 hairs were retained, up to 70 per cent of participants showed fewer greys and 100 per cent showed an improved scalp barrier. The brand says users can begin to reverse hair age within three months, with improvements reported in as little as one month.

Co-founder and chief executive Suveen Sahib said the launch reflected a shift in the brand's approach. "The opportunity is to act earlier, supporting the biology that drives these changes before they accelerate," he said. "That shift from correction to preservation is what hair longevity is about, and we believe it represents the next frontier of haircare."

Dr Vali, a cosmetic dermatologist and K18 ambassador, drew a comparison with preventative skincare. "Your scalp is skin. It ages. It loses follicle function, melanin production slows, the barrier weakens," he said. "We have treated facial ageing with a regenerative, preventative approach for years, but the scalp has been an afterthought. FutureIQ addresses all three pathways simultaneously: shedding, greying and scalp barrier."

K18 was founded in 2020 by Suveen Sahib and Britta Cox and built its reputation on the patented K18PEPTIDE used in its molecular repair mask. The brand was acquired by Unilever in 2024 and sits within the company's prestige beauty division.
