Dermalogica Stabilizing Repair Serum

Sensitive skin rarely confines itself neatly to the face. Irritation, itching and stubborn dry patches can appear just as readily across the hands, neck or body, yet much of the barrier-care category still arrives in face-sized bottles with a face-only routine in mind. Dermalogica is widening the brief with Stabilizing Repair Serum, a new face-and-body treatment for reactive, irritated and eczema-prone skin. The serum joins Dermalogica’s UltraCalming collection and has been developed to provide immediate comfort while strengthening the skin’s moisture barrier against future sensitivity. Its lightweight format can be used across the face or applied more precisely to areas of redness, dryness and irritation elsewhere on the body.

At the centre of the formula is one per cent colloidal oatmeal, which moisturises the skin and helps relieve itching and tightness. A cooling sensory blend featuring Northern Truffle Mushroom Extract has been added to ease feelings of stinging and discomfort, giving the serum an immediate soothing action while the wider formula works on barrier recovery. Encapsulated calcium helps replenish the skin, while ground cherry, bisabolol and ginger support the repair of damage to its moisture barrier. Resurrection plant, an ingredient known for its ability to withstand extreme dehydration, helps restore moisture and improve the skin’s resilience. The formula also contains a biomimetic complex of skin-replenishing lipids, phytosterols and ceramide-like compounds. These help nourish the skin and seal in moisture, creating what Dermalogica describes as a hydration reservoir for dry and flaky areas. Prebiotic glycerin and Avena extract provide additional moisture while supporting the skin microbiome.

Rather than treating sensitivity as a momentary flare to be calmed and forgotten, Stabilizing Repair Serum has been formulated around the idea that reactive skin requires both rapid relief and ongoing barrier support. It is designed to reduce the visible signs of redness and dryness while relieving sensory symptoms including itching, stinging and tightness. The immediate-relief claims are supported by a consumer perception evaluation conducted within a clinical study of 33 participants. Subjects applied the product twice daily for four weeks, with results assessed from 30 minutes after application.

The new serum extends the work of Dermalogica’s existing Stabilizing Repair Cream, but its face-and-body positioning gives professionals greater flexibility when recommending care for clients whose sensitivity extends beyond the complexion. It can also be applied to targeted areas without requiring a separate facial and body product. Dermalogica recommends applying the serum to clean skin twice daily, allowing it to absorb before continuing with the rest of the skincare routine.

Dermalogica Stabilizing Repair Serum launches in the UK on 14 September 2026 through Dermalogica, Space NK, Sephora and John Lewis, as well as nationwide through local professional Dermalogica skin therapists.
