Kiehl’s 1cc* CollaShot Plump Collagen Serum
Kiehl’s has launched the 1cc* CollaShot Plump Collagen Serum, a topical treatment developed to address visible signs of collagen decline, including loss of firmness, elasticity and facial volume. Its name deliberately borrows from the language of professional aesthetic treatments. Kiehl’s describes “1cc” as a metaphor intended to convey the formula’s concentration and inspiration from professional procedures.
The formula is centred on recombinant collagen polypeptides, biosynthetic protein fragments designed to resemble those found in human collagen. Kiehl’s produces the ingredient using yeast, before harvesting and purifying the resulting collagen molecules. These polypeptides are delivered through the brand’s Supra-Liposomal system, which Kiehl’s says helps the formula absorb rapidly and penetrate the upper surface layers of the skin. The serum also contains rhamnose to support the skin’s structural network and vitamin B12, which gives the product its naturally pink colour. Rather than concentrating solely on lines and wrinkles, CollaShot has been positioned around the broader appearance of facial volume loss. This includes changes associated with ageing and lifestyle factors, as well as skin that appears less plump following rapid weight loss.
The serum provides an immediate plumping effect alongside more progressive firming benefits. In a self-assessment involving 103 participants, nine out of ten agreed that their skin looked plumper after four weeks, while participants reported firmer-looking skin from the first week of twice-daily use. Clinical studies report up to a 21 per cent improvement in facial volume based on 110 participants after 12 weeks.
The lightweight formula has a bouncy gel-to-serum texture and is suitable for all skin types, including sensitive skin. It has been dermatologist and ophthalmologist tested and can be applied around the eyes, as well as across the face, neck and décolleté.
