ChitoCare Launches in the UK
ChitoCare Beauty has arrived in the UK, bringing Icelandic marine biotechnology onto British bathroom shelves and into treatment rooms. The brand is built around chitosan, a naturally derived biopolymer extracted from North Atlantic shrimp shells in Siglufjörður, a fishing town just south of the Arctic Circle. The line launches online through EF SKIN, the ecommerce arm of EF MEDISPA, and is supported by a dedicated ChitoCare Clinic on Harley Street, positioning the range at the intersection of spa, aesthetics and biotech skincare.
Produced in house by parent company Primex Iceland using a patented, low impact process, Icelandic chitosan is described as up to seven times more effective than some other sources and has long been used in hospital settings across Asia, Europe and the US for wound, burn and ulcer care. On skin, it forms a breathable, invisible film that locks in moisture, shields against environmental stress, delivers antioxidant protection and supports the skin’s own repair processes. It is naturally antibacterial, helps to regulate the microbiome, calms inflammation and enhances the penetration of other actives, which allows ChitoCare formulas to play well within existing routines rather than replacing them.
Every product contains the brand’s ChitoCare Repair complex, combining chitosan with hyaluronic acid, squalane and vitamin E to boost hydration, firmness and elasticity while softening the look of fine lines. The Anti-Aging Repair Serum is a fast absorbing, oil free gel that leans on chitosan, hyaluronic acid and antioxidants to hydrate deeply and support repair. In a six week clinical study it delivered a 16 percent increase in hydration, 22 percent improvement in firmness, 7 percent lift in elasticity and a 19 percent reduction in measured skin roughness, pointing to a smoother, more resilient surface.
Day and night creams extend that work. Anti-Aging Day Cream SPF 20 focuses on moisture, texture and daily protection, using chicory root for a lifting effect, prickly pear for water binding, bacillus ferment for instant radiance and a V-shaping effect, plus filters to defend against UV and oxidative stress. Anti-Aging Night Cream, with up to 99 percent natural ingredients, rebuilds the moisture barrier overnight with biotechnological peptides, Mexican giant hyssop and prickly pear to nourish, calm and improve density. Anti-Aging Eye Cream joins them as a 99 percent natural, triple action formula that lifts moisture, firmness and elasticity while addressing dark circles and signs of fatigue in the orbital area.
In London, the brand has anchored its storytelling at 10 Harley Street with the ChitoCare Clinic, created in collaboration with The ASKA Group. Treatment menus combine the chitosan based formulas with technologies such as radiofrequency and LED, and are delivered by trained aestheticians with an emphasis on repair, calming and barrier health. ChitoCare has also partnered with concierge platform Ruuby to offer facials across its network, extending access beyond W1.
The ChitoCare range is available now from Wigmore Medical.
