Superdrug Launches Nationwide Recruitment Drive Ahead of Christmas

Superdrug has announced a national recruitment drive across its stores estate to prepare for the busy festive season. The leading accessible beauty and health retailer is seeking an additional 1,000 Sales Assistants to support stores over the festive period, ahead of increased footfall during Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Christmas.

This year is set to be Superdrug’s biggest festive season to date, fuelled by ongoing investment in its in-store experience. Earlier on this year, Superdrug introduced its innovative Beauty Playground concept in 30 stores nationwide, which will provide customers with an elevated and interactive way to shop. In addition, the arrival of leading Korean beauty brands across selected stores on online as well as bolstering with own-brand portfolio with innovating new products, reflects the retailer’s commitment to offering customers access to the latest health and beauty products.

The new roles will ensure that Superdrug continues to offer market leading customer service throughout its busiest trading period. While the positions are seasonal, Superdrug remains committed to identifying and retaining talent, with many temporary roles historically progressing into permanent positions within the business.

Superdrug’s People Director, Amy Davies, said: “As we prepare for our biggest Christmas yet, we’re excited to welcome new colleagues into the Superdrug community. This year we’ve continued to focus on enhancing the in-store experience for our customers, it’s an exceptional time to join our business.

“We’re looking for people who are passionate about customer service and eager to learn. In return, we offer one of the most competitive employment packages and training programmes in retail. Our teams are at the heart of our success, and we take pride in fostering a culture that is inclusive, supportive and driven by shared ambition.”

Superdrug delivered strong Christmas trading in 2024, with December sales increasing by 5.1% year-on-year and market share increasing across the festive period. Superdrug has also strengthened its product offering this year across all categories, reinforcing its position as a trusted provider of high-performance products at affordable prices. Continued growth in its Health & Beautycard membership and exclusive member deals have remained key drivers of success in 2025.

Superdrug’s COO, Simon Comins added: “Christmas is always a pivotal and exciting time for Superdrug, and these new roles will enable us to deliver our best festive season yet. Our stores are ready for the season, supported by continued investment in our existing portfolio through the innovative Beauty Playground format and the opening of new stores. We remain committed to delivering exceptional service and an enhanced shopping experience for every customer this Christmas.”
