Twiqk Launches UK Practitioner Verification and Patient Education Platform for Aesthetics

A UK-based verification and consumer education platform, Twiqk, will launch on March 15 2026, with the aim of supporting safer, more accountable growth in non-surgical aesthetics.

The initiative, founded by social entrepreneur and doctoral researcher Josh Sim, has an advisory board chaired by Professor Dr Patrick Treacy and will be editorially led by former Aesthetic Medicine editor Anna Dobbie. Twiqk is positioned between consumer education and professional credibility, designed to address the increasing scrutiny of patient safety, informed consent, and practitioner standards.

Twiqk combines medically reviewed educational content with a vetted directory of medically registered practitioners (GMC, NMC, GhPC, GDC). Key features include:

  • Clear, unbiased explanations of non-surgical cosmetic procedures

  • A directory of medically registered practitioners, subject to structured vetting prior to
    approval

  • A clinic finder, searchable by treatment and location, designed to prioritise clarity rather than
    marketing dominance

The aim is to create a framework where patient education and practitioner accountability sit side by side, supporting responsible clinical practice while improving public understanding.

The non-surgical aesthetics sector has expanded rapidly in recent years, alongside growing public debate around standards, complications and regulatory oversight.

“Twiqk was created to bring clarity and transparency to a sector that has grown fast but unevenly,”
says Sim. “Patients deserve reliable, unbiased information, and aesthetic practitioners deserve a
platform that reflects high standards of safety, transparency, and professionalism.”

Sim adds that the concept emerged from conversations with both patients and clinicians who expressed frustration at the lack of balanced, medically grounded information available online: “There is a clear gap between public perception and clinical reality. Twiqk is designed to raise industry standards and improve how people engage with aesthetic treatments.”

Twiqk launches under the guidance of an advisory board chaired by Professor Treacy.

“I believe Twiqk represents a timely and important initiative within the aesthetics sector,” Professor
Treacy comments. “As chair of the advisory board, my involvement reflects my longstanding
commitment to patient safety, ethical practice and evidence-led standards.

“The platform’s focus on transparency, practitioner verification, governance and quality assurance
addresses some of the most pressing challenges currently facing our industry. By strengthening
standards and promoting independent oversight, Twiqk has the potential to enhance public trust
and support responsible practitioners.”

“I’m really excited to be joining Twiqk at such a pivotal time,” says Dobbie, who will be leading
content strategy and professional engagement. “I’ve always been passionate about bringing people,
ideas and innovation together. Twiqk provides an opportunity to support more informed
conversations within the sector and to ensure content is credible, balanced and relevant to both
practitioners and patients.”

To coincide with the launch, Twiqk is inviting qualified aesthetic practitioners and clinics across the UK to create a business profile free of charge during the initial launch phase.

Membership is subject to a formal vetting process aligned with the platform’s governance and quality criteria. Early adopters will be positioned as founding members of a platform built around transparency, patient education and professional integrity.
