Epetōme Secures Multi-Million Pound Investment

Gut health has moved from a niche wellness trend to a mainstream health priority. Yet in an increasingly saturated and often unregulated market, consumer trust remains fragile and demand for evidence-led solutions prioritising integrity has never been higher.

Epetōme, the fast-growing gut health company founded by nutritionist and bestselling author Emily English, has secured a multi-million-pound investment to accelerate its international expansion and deepen its clinical research programme.

The funding, led by Active Partners and Redrice Ventures, marks a significant vote of confidence in Epetōme’s science-led model and long-term ambition to build the UK’s leading gut health company. The capital will enable the brand to expand globally while significantly increasing investment into clinical testing across both probiotics and prebiotics, further advancing understanding of their relationship with the microbiome.

Founded in 2023, Epetōme has experienced rapid growth, building a highly loyal consumer base alongside celebrity backing. In a crowded and often unregulated supplements market, the brand has positioned itself around integrity, evidence and measurable outcomes.

With a myriad of positive reviews online, customers report a wide spectrum of benefits, from core digestive improvements including reduced bloating, cramping and day-to-day discomfort, to broader gut-linked outcomes such as calmer skin, with some noting improvements in eczema and rosacea. Many also describe fewer food sensitivity flare-ups, increased digestive freedom and improved management of IBS-type symptoms.

Emily English, known widely through her brand EmTheNutritionist, has built a substantial and engaged following on social media through her accessible philosophy: “Food you want to eat, designed by a nutritionist.”

She is the author of two Sunday Times Number One bestselling cookbooks, So Good and Live to Eat, with her third book scheduled for release in May 2026.

Long before her social media presence, Emily founded her own health clinic, working directly with clients on gut health and wider wellbeing concerns. That clinical experience laid the foundation for Epetōme’s science-led and outcome-driven approach.

Emily English, Co-founder of Epetōme, said “the world of supplements can be hard to trust, and as a nutritionist I’ve seen the impact of that uncertainty first hand. Over years of working with clients, I’ve listened to countless gut health stories - people trying everything, spending money on products that overpromise, and still not feeling like themselves.

Epetōme was created to change that and to set a new industry standard for gut health supplements, built with integrity, evidence and real outcomes in mind. The most motivating part is hearing the feedback - when someone tells us it has been life-changing and that they finally feel like they can live freely again.

I truly believe our gut health underpins everything, and I’m so proud of what we’ve achieved over the past year. This funding marks an exciting next step for Epetōme, and it is only the beginning.”

Jimmy Hill, Co-founder and Executive Chair of Epetōme, said “the growth of Epetōme over the past 12 months has truly been amazing to be a part of. We are proud to announce Active Partners and Redrice Ventures as our new business partners on this exciting project of building the biggest gut health company in the UK. We can now double down on our investment into science, international growth and our already brilliant team here at Epetōme.”
