Skin Cupid takes K-beauty nationwide with first UK Summer Roadshow
Skin Cupid is taking K-beauty on the road with the launch of its first UK Summer Roadshow, bringing an immersive Jeju Island-inspired beauty experience to four cities across the country. Running from 28 August to 20 September 2026, the Summer Roadshow: Jeju Island Edition will visit Manchester, Edinburgh, Leeds and Birmingham, marking the first time Skin Cupid has staged a physical event outside London.
The travelling pop-up will bring together six Korean beauty brands – Anua, Purito Seoul, Kundal, Mixsoon, Manyo and Dear, Klairs – giving visitors the opportunity to discover and shop some of the products helping to drive K-beauty’s growing UK presence. The roadshow represents the latest stage in Skin Cupid’s expansion beyond its London base. Founded by Melody Yuan in 2021, the retailer has grown from an online K-beauty destination into an omnichannel business with a flagship store on Charing Cross Road and an expanding physical retail presence.
Earlier this year, Skin Cupid also became John Lewis’s exclusive K-beauty partner, with the department store introducing 20 Korean skincare and haircare brands online and announcing Skin Cupid shop-in-shops in Cambridge, Kingston and Leeds.
Bringing Jeju Island to the UK
The Summer Roadshow takes its visual inspiration from Jeju Island, the volcanic island off the southern coast of South Korea known for its natural landscape and tangerine groves. Each pop-up will recreate elements of the destination through an immersive environment featuring tangerine groves and content opportunities, while introducing visitors to the Korean culture and beauty innovation behind the participating brands. At the centre of the experience will be a limited-edition Skin Cupid Jeju Island Summer Tote, available exclusively at the roadshow for £15.
Each tote will contain five complimentary travel-size K-beauty products: Anua PDRN Mini Serum 10ml, Manyo Pure Cleansing Oil 55ml, Mixsoon Bean Cream 15ml, Purito Oat-In Calming Gel Cream 15ml, and either the Kundal Protein Bonding Treatment or Protein Bonding Shampoo 50ml. The first 1,000 visitors at each location will also receive a full-size Dear, Klairs Midnight Blue Youth Activating Drop 20ml, worth £28, free of charge.
Visitors will additionally receive 20% off selected products across all six participating brands, with the offer available exclusively in person during each roadshow stop.
Melody Yuan, Founder and CEO of Skin Cupid, said:
“The Summer Jeju Roadshow is our way of creating joy and giving love back to our community. Instead of asking them to come to us, we are bringing Skin Cupid to them, in the major cities where so many of our Cherubs are based. It is a chance to be physically present with the community we have built, and to welcome new Cherubs meeting us for the first time. More than anything, we wanted the Roadshow to be a way of telling these cities, very clearly, how much they mean to us, while bringing some joy alongside a few of our favourite products from the brands we cannot stop talking about.”
K-beauty continues rapid UK growth
The tour arrives as Korean beauty develops from an online and social-media-led trend into an increasingly significant part of the UK mainstream beauty market. The latest Circana data shows UK K-beauty sales grew 65% in value in the year ending March 2026, substantially ahead of the wider skincare category, which grew by 12% over the same period. The growth has been supported by demand for ingredient-led formulations and formats including essences, milk-based products, toner pads, acne patches and increasingly sophisticated actives.
Circana has recorded particularly strong UK growth for essences, up 72%, and milk formats, up 128%, while facial devices increased 34%. Emerging ingredients including PDRN, peptides and spicule-based products are also contributing to the category’s next phase of growth. Mainstream retailers are responding accordingly. Boots recorded a fivefold increase in K-beauty sales, with a Korean skincare product sold every 11 seconds during 2025, while John Lewis reported that searches for Korean skincare had risen almost 800% year on year ahead of its Skin Cupid partnership.
For Skin Cupid, much of that demand already sits outside the capital. More than 80% of its UK customers are based outside London, with Manchester, Edinburgh, Leeds and Birmingham representing the retailer’s largest concentrations of customers that it has not previously met through its own physical events.
Yuan added:
“The UK is one of the fastest-growing Korean beauty markets in the world, and the brands joining us on the Summer Jeju Roadshow are ones we have either helped build here from the ground up, or ones our community has been asking for by name for years. Every one of them treats the UK as a strategic priority, and it is not hard to see why.”
Skin Cupid Summer Roadshow 2026 dates
The roadshow begins at Manchester Arndale from 28–30 August, before travelling to St James Quarter in Edinburgh on 5–6 September.
It will then arrive on Briggate in Leeds from 12–13 September, before finishing at Rotunda Square at Birmingham’s Bullring from 18–20 September.
The four-city tour brings together physical retail, Korean culture and beauty discovery at a time when consumers are increasingly seeking experiential ways to engage with brands. Boots’ 2026 Beauty & Wellness Trends Report found that 46% of shoppers now seek immersive and entertainment-led retail experiences, including pop-ups, collaborations and community events.
