Rituals Uukumwe collection
Rituals Cosmetics has launched Uukumwe, a limited-edition bath, body and home collection inspired by Namibian heritage and the idea that wellbeing is better when it is shared. Described as a Namibian word for unity and togetherness, Uukumwe shifts the focus from “me time” towards “we time”, turning everyday beauty routines into opportunities to slow down, reconnect and care for ourselves and those around us.
The collection was developed in close consultation with members of the Ovawambo community, while Namibian artist Tuli Mekondjo and musician Shishani contributed to its storytelling and creative direction. Mekondjo’s original artwork has also been translated into a limited-edition scarf design.
Inspired by the marula tree, the range features responsibly sourced Namibian ingredients including marula oil, myrrh, known locally as omumbiri, and ochre clay. These are combined with baobab and shea oils, alongside warming notes of clove and cinnamon, to create the collection’s rich, woody fragrance.
Lot van Rij, Rituals Executive Director Innovation & Product Life Cycle Management, said: “Created in partnership with Namibian creatives, Uukumwe reflects a shared sense of warmth and care. But what makes this collection feel truly special is its distinctive blend of ingredients and rich textures, with the addition of a warm and addictive fragrance. The bold packaging serves as a celebration of Namibian heritage. With the Uukumwe Collection, wellbeing becomes something we experience together.”
Among the collection’s hero products is the Creamy Foaming Shower Gel, which transforms from an amber gel into a soft foam as it meets warm water. The Warming Body Scrub combines mineral clay and natural exfoliants with marula and baobab oils, while producing a gentle warming sensation designed for the colder months.
The Hydrating 2-Phase Body Oil pairs marula, baobab and shea oils in a lightweight, fast-absorbing formula. An alcohol-free All-Over Fragrance Mist can be used on the hair and body, while the All-Over Glow Balm leaves the face and body with a warm, golden sheen.
Home fragrance is represented by a Scented Candle and Fragrance Sticks, which diffuse the collection’s marula, myrrh, clove and cinnamon scent for up to five months.
The wider range includes a Rich Body Butter, Rich Bath and Shower Oil, Hand Wash, Eau de Parfum, Uukumwe Tea and a gift set.
Through its 10% Profit Pledge, Rituals also works with organisations including Tiny Miracles, War Child and Super Chill, supporting children, families and communities around the world.
The Uukumwe collection is available from Rituals stores across the UK and Ireland, selected department stores and online.
