Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Color Correcting Under Eye Setting Powder
Laura Mercier has added a dedicated under-eye setting powder to its line-up with the launch of the Secret Brightening Colour Correcting Under Eye Setting Powder.
The powder comes in five shades calibrated for different skin tones and undertones: Translucent, which brightens without colour correction and suits lighter skin tones; Soft Pink, which targets blue and purple discolouration for light to medium skin; Peach, which corrects blue, purple and grey tones for medium to deep skin; Golden, which addresses green and purple cast for medium to deep skin; and Rich Peach, which neutralises blue and black tones for deeper complexions. The formula uses light-reflecting pearls alongside peach and pink pigments to cancel darkness without a powdery or heavy finish. Worn over concealer, it locks in coverage and keeps it looking fresh throughout the day.
The launch sits comfortably within a brand whose identity has always been built around the under-eye and complexion. Laura Mercier launched her namesake brand in 1996, identifying a gap in the market for products that did not yet exist, including a foundation primer and the Secret Camouflage concealer, which was developed directly from the professional products she had been using on models' skin on set.
Born in Provence, Mercier trained at the Carita Beauty Institute in Paris before moving to New York in 1985 to work on the launch of American Elle. From there, she built a client list that included Madonna, Julia Roberts and Sarah Jessica Parker, becoming one of the most in-demand makeup artists working across editorial and advertising. The brand she launched from that experience became known for its "Flawless Face" philosophy, a concept grounded in naturalistic, skin-first makeup. The brand has been part of Shiseido since 2016.
