Dr. Lylah Hill ElectraGlow
Dr. Lylah Hill has launched ElectraGlow, a biodegradable microcurrent mask device platform engineered to increase the depth penetration of skincare actives by 600% versus traditional topical application. Built as a hands-free, single-use treatment, the ElectraGlow format combines a four-layer fabric mask with “power generating printed” electrodes and a separate, sealed serum compartment that activates the microcurrent only at the point of use, protecting formula stability and reducing oxidation before application.
ElectraGlow centres on a polarity-led microcurrent delivery mechanism designed to drive charged molecules deeper into the epidermis while also supporting circulation, collagen and elastin pathways, and overall tone and texture. In vitro fluorescent microscopy testing using a human skin model (Labskin-S) recorded serum penetration to 0.600mm with ElectraGlow, compared with 0.09mm for serum applied without the device, equating to delivery through all five epidermal layers in the model and a 600% increase in penetration depth.
“Our patented high-tech delivery system uses 3D power generating printed electrodes embedded within a four-layered fabric microcurrent treatment mask (which biodegrades in 90-120 days), combined with specific charged treatment serum formulations, to really improve skin at a cellular level,” said Dr. Lylah Hill.
The initial ElectraGlow launch comprises four targeted biodegradable microcurrent masks, each paired with a dedicated serum blend: Skin Corrector+ for pigmentation, Soothing+ for sensitised skin, Hydrating+ for dehydrated skin, and Smooth & Lift+ for wrinkles and sagging.
The masks use biodegradable Nordic fibre fabric designed to break down within 90 to 120 days, alongside FSC, fully recyclable outer cartons and recyclable inner foil pouches.
Alongside penetration testing, ElectraGlow is supported by both consumer performance studies and in vitro biomarker work. In a consumer study of 30 subjects across various ethnicities using ElectraGlow Skin Corrector+ for eight applications, 90% reported brighter-looking skin, improved glow and a healthier appearance, with 77% noting a visible reduction and fading of pigmentation and 73% reporting a visible reduction in dark spots after the eight uses.
A separate 30-subject consumer study for ElectraGlow Smooth & Firm following nine applications also reported high satisfaction and tolerability, including 97% reporting no redness or irritation, 83% reporting a visible reduction in fine lines and wrinkles and 83% reporting firmer, more lifted-looking skin.
