Murdock London is celebrating two decades in business with the launch of Soho Leather, the fifth fragrance to join its Heritage Collection. The new scent takes its cue from one of the most recognisable materials in traditional barbering: leather. From razor strops to barber chairs, the material has been part of Murdock London’s visual and tactile identity since the brand’s earliest days, while the fragrance also draws on the character of Soho to give the classic note a more contemporary edge.

“Each fragrance we add to the heritage collection has to earn its place – and SOHO Leather does exactly that. As our fifth, it feels like the most personal: leather has been part of the MURDOCK world since day one, from the razor strop to the barber’s chair,” said Emma Fulton, COO of Murdock London.

“Bringing that into a scent, on our 20th anniversary, feels like the right moment to celebrate everything this brand is built on.”

The fragrance opens with basil and black tea, with black pepper adding freshness and birch bringing a subtle smoky quality. At its heart sits the leather accord, layered with lavender and rosemary – both long associated with traditional grooming – alongside nutmeg for warmth and spice. Musk, patchouli and moss form the base, creating a richer, earthy dry-down designed to echo the atmosphere of the Murdock barbershop.

The launch comes as Murdock London continues to build its fragrance and grooming offer around its barbering heritage. Founded in London, the brand now operates barbershops in Soho, Covent Garden, Shoreditch and Broadgate alongside its range of grooming and fragrance products. Soho Leather is positioned as a distillation of that 20-year history, bringing together the craftsmanship of traditional barbering with the more urban character of one of London’s best-known neighbourhoods.

Murdock London Soho Leather will be available from 1 September, priced at £99 for 100ml, through Murdock London and UK stockists including ASOS, Debenhams and Next.
