Alastin C‑Radical Defense Antioxidant Serum

ALASTIN Skincare, part of Galderma, has launched C-RADICAL Defense Antioxidant Serum in the UK, expanding its professional skincare portfolio with a vitamin C-based antioxidant serum for daily skin defence.

The serum uses an encapsulated form of sodium ascorbate, delivered through a proprietary liposomal system, rather than traditional L-ascorbic acid. The formulation also contains 14 additional antioxidants, including lactoferrin, ergothioneine, green tea extract, ectoin and coenzyme Q10, targeting oxidative stress linked to UV exposure, pollution, blue light and other environmental stressors.

ALASTIN positions the serum as a daily restorative product designed to support smoother, brighter-looking skin while helping to conserve elastin. Product data from Galderma reports that the formula helps reduce the effects of free radicals in the skin by up to 74%, with a 12-week clinical study showing visible improvements in texture, tone, luminosity, fine lines, wrinkles and photodamage from as early as eight weeks.

For clinics, the launch taps into the growing demand for professional homecare that supports broader skin quality programmes. Antioxidant serums are already a core recommendation in many aesthetic and advanced skin treatment plans, but ALASTIN’s focus on elastin conservation gives the product a clearer clinical positioning for practitioners treating photodamage, ageing-related laxity and compromised skin resilience.
