The British beauty and wellness brand returns to its founder after a decade under the ownership of the Ganassini family, with spas and clinics set to play a key role in its next chapter.
Margo Marrone has reacquired The Organic Pharmacy, the British beauty and wellness business she founded in 2002, marking her return as owner of the brand after ten years under the stewardship of the Ganassini family.
The pharmacist and entrepreneur officially resumed ownership on 16 October 2026, with plans to refocus the business on its founding principles of holistic health, detoxification and preventative wellness, while exploring opportunities in the professional spa and clinic sectors. The financial terms of the reacquisition have not been disclosed.
Founded on London's King's Road, The Organic Pharmacy was among the early British beauty businesses to bring together pharmaceutical expertise, organic skincare, herbal medicine and personalised wellbeing advice. Its approach to combining topical skincare with nutrition and lifestyle guidance preceded the wider industry's growing interest in longevity and holistic wellness.
Marrone's return comes as the relationship between skin health, internal wellbeing and healthy ageing becomes an increasingly prominent area of focus for beauty and wellness businesses.
“It was incredibly emotional to return to The Organic Pharmacy, and I feel so grateful to be back. I’m really looking forward to getting creative again and exploring what comes next for the brand,” said Marrone.
Under Marrone's renewed ownership, The Organic Pharmacy will place greater emphasis on the relationship between skincare, nutrition and lifestyle, revisiting the integrated approach that informed its original positioning. Professional wellness is expected to be an important part of the brand's future direction, with Marrone identifying spas and clinics as areas of particular interest. The move could create opportunities for The Organic Pharmacy to strengthen its presence in the professional beauty sector, where demand for treatments and services addressing broader wellbeing continues to influence spa and clinic offerings.
The brand's longstanding philosophy also aligns with the wider industry's interest in longevity and biohacking, particularly approaches combining topical skincare with nutritional supplementation, lifestyle interventions and personalised wellbeing programmes.
Although specific professional partnerships and expansion plans have not yet been announced, the renewed focus suggests an opportunity to develop the brand's treatment-led heritage alongside its internationally distributed retail business.
Reflecting on the original vision behind The Organic Pharmacy, Marrone said:
“The Organic Pharmacy was the realisation of my dream: to bring under one roof professional client advice, an exceptional, personal service that enables me to form a bond with my clients, and the best products in the world that are free from toxins.”
The reacquisition ends a decade of ownership by the Ganassini family, although the Italian pharmaceutical group will maintain a commercial relationship with The Organic Pharmacy through its distribution operations in Italy. The family will now refocus its wider business activities on other pharmaceutical brands. For Marrone, the acquisition also represents a return to the business that established her position in the natural beauty and wellness industry.
In 2023, she co-founded EYEAM with her daughter Roxy, developing a beauty and wellbeing brand focused on neurocosmetics and the relationship between skin, mind and body. More than two decades after The Organic Pharmacy first opened, the reacquisition places Marrone back at the helm as the beauty industry increasingly explores the convergence of skincare, preventative health and longevity. With a renewed emphasis on professional wellness, the next phase of the business will centre on how its founding holistic philosophy can translate into opportunities for spas, clinics and the wider beauty market.
