Penhaligon's Reopens Regent Street Store After Significant Refurbishment

Penhaligon’s has reopened its flagship boutique on London’s Regent Street, an exquisite refurbishment that marks a defining new chapter in the brand’s 155-year legacy. The transformed store is not only a tribute to Penhaligon’s distinguished heritage, but a bold step into a future shaped by craft, creativity and British perfumed tradition.

Designed in collaboration with the esteemed interior architects Michaelis Boyd the reimagined Regent Street store is the most luxurious expression of the House to date. Every detail speaks to Penhaligon’s enduring pillars: fragrance, heritage, craftsmanship and storytelling, each lovingly reinterpreted through a contemporary lens.

At the heart of the refurbishment is the introduction of William’s Green, Penhaligon’s Pantone-registered brand colour. Woven throughout the marbles, woods and textiles of the interior, this deep and distinguished hue anchors the space with elegance, subtly uniting past and present.

Sustainable and reclaimed materials have been carefully integrated throughout, from original display cabinets to heritage furniture restored to their former glory, creating a tactile sense of continuity that connects the boutique to its Victorian origins.

Careful attention to detail in lighting the spaces, including pieces by the acclaimed Joe Armitage, bring warmth and nuance to the space. Light spills across polished brass, hand-lacquered finishes and curated archival pieces, a space that glows with quiet grandeur and modern refinement.

True to the House’s unwavering commitment to craftsmanship, artistry flourishes at every turn. A commanding bronze lion, sculpted by Hamish Mackie, stands at the heart of the space, proudly displaying the fragrance profiling table. To the right, a hand-painted mural by renowned artist Claire Basler evokes the soft romance of the English countryside, its pastoral charm washing the walls in story and sentiment. Beneath one’s feet, an intricate mosaic crafted by the London School of Mosaic reimagines Penhaligon’s insignia, and abstracts the scent leaving the store, creating a ceremonial threshold to the fragrant realm within. And in a final flourish of wit and wonder, a bespoke chess board by Carl Fox and Sofia Karakatsanis pays homage to the Portraits Collection, a nod to scandal, satire and olfactory theatre.

Every detail within the store has been conceived not merely to adorn, but to express, a multi-sensory celebration of British ingenuity and narrative design.

The Regent Street boutique invites guests to discover the full Penhaligon’s universe, from the eccentric Portraits collection to the storied British Tales, the globe-trotting Trade Routes, and the playful Potions & Remedies.

Fragrance Profiling remains a signature experience, a seated service where scent is explored through memory, personality and preference. Personalisation, complimentary gift wrapping, and engraving services are also available, ensuring each visit is as tailored as it is transportive.
