Guerlain unveils wellness sanctuary at Villa San Michele Spa

Guerlain has unveiled a new wellness sanctuary at Villa San Michele, A Belmond Hotel, Florence, marking the hotel’s first ever spa following an 18 month renovation.

Set within the former 15th century monastery in the hills of Fiesole, Villa San Michele Spa by Guerlain has been designed as a calm and refined retreat inspired by the spirit of the Renaissance, Tuscan nature and Guerlain’s French spa heritage.

The new spa forms part of Villa San Michele’s renewed focus on slow luxury, wellbeing and mindful living. The hotel reopened in April 2026 after a major restoration, with redesigned rooms and suites, refreshed gardens, new culinary concepts and a wider programme of holistic experiences.

Villa San Michele Spa by Guerlain brings together personalised rituals, botanical inspiration and the Maison’s long standing approach to beauty, preventive health and longevity. The spa experience is shaped around the balance of body and mind, with treatments designed to reflect the Italian art of living and the natural landscape surrounding the property.

The wellness space features three treatment rooms, including one VIP double suite. It also sits alongside the hotel’s outdoor pool, panoramic fitness and wellbeing facilities, gardens and woodland experiences, creating a broader wellness offer across the estate.

Guerlain has created a series of exclusive treatments for the Villa. Floral Delight in Tuscany is a 90 minute face and body ritual inspired by the olfactory gardens of Guerlain’s Aqua Allegoria collection, designed to relax the body and soothe the mind through delicate floral notes and enveloping gestures.

The Art of Renaissance is a 120 minute face and body treatment created exclusively for Villa San Michele. Inspired by the elegance and perfection of the Italian Renaissance, the treatment uses deep sculpting movements and stone tools to relax muscles, redefine contours and leave the body feeling toned.

Iris di Grazia is a 90 minute anti ageing facial created for Villa San Michele as a tribute to Florence’s emblematic flower. The treatment uses precise, refined movements to smooth, firm and revitalise the skin, leaving the complexion looking radiant and renewed.

The wider treatment menu includes tailor made Guerlain facials, sculpting treatments, body therapies, massage rituals, hand and foot care, grooming, make up services and longevity focused protocols. The spa also offers Longeviskin treatments, a technology led skin platform combining radiofrequency, plasma, microcurrent, micropeel, LED, cryo and ultrasound technologies in personalised face and body protocols.

Beyond the spa, Villa San Michele’s wellness offer extends into the gardens, woodland and historic spaces of the property, with experiences including yoga, breathwork, meditation and sound healing. This positions the destination as a retreat where beauty, nature, movement and cultural immersion are integrated into the guest experience.

Villa San Michele Spa by Guerlain is open daily from 10am to 8pm.
