OPI Chrome Effects Mirror Shine Nail Powder

OPI has brought its Chrome Effects Mirror Shine Nail Powders back into circulation, a relaunch developed with OPI Global Ambassador and celebrity nail artist Zola Ganzorigt, whose work helped move the glazed donut manicure from celebrity reference point into mainstream client language.

The collection returns with four finishes. Tin Man Can Glaze, the silvery white chrome powder that became synonymous with the glazed donut nail, leads the range under a new name. It is joined by Chrome to Mama, a strong silver mirror effect; Pearl Pressure, which delivers a pink violet shift; and Mermaid For Me, a blue gold glaze.

The finish varies depending on the base shade underneath, which gives technicians considerable flexibility from a compact product format. Tin Man Can Glaze over a Bubble Bath or Funny Bunny neutral produces the clean, iced look that has driven the glazed manicure trend. Darker bases push the same powder towards a more dramatic chrome result. Pearl Pressure and Mermaid For Me shift in colour depending on the light, adding dimension without requiring complex nail art skills.

Application follows a precise but straightforward sequence. After prep, base and colour, OPI recommends applying GelColor No Wipe Top Coat with a short soft cure before rubbing the powder over the nail in circular motions. The free edge is refined, excess powder removed and the finish sealed with Super Gloss No Wipe Top Coat.

Tin Man Can Glaze is available as a 1g Chrome Effects powder at Salons Direct, priced at £14 ex VAT.
