K18 TripleBright
K18 Biomimetic Hairscience has launched TripleBright, an oxidation defence purple shampoo.
Brassiness in lightened hair is a chemical reaction; when hair is bleached, the structure becomes porous and vulnerable to environmental metals and minerals. Copper, iron and calcium present in hard water embed into the hair fibre and accelerate oxidation, pulling out yellow, orange and red undertones. Conventional purple shampoos compound the problem: their purple pigments are themselves susceptible to oxidation, which limits their ability to neutralise tone consistently.
TripleBright works in three stages. An ionic detox mechanism binds to and removes metal and mineral deposits from the hair fibre, removing up to three months of hard water brass in a single wash. Precision violet technology then neutralises existing brassiness without overtoning or staining. Finally, a biopolymer coats the hair to prevent brass-causing metals and minerals from reattaching during subsequent washes. The foam format allows even, controlled application from roots to ends, left for one to three minutes before rinsing.
Suitable for all highlighted and lifted tones, it pairs with K18's existing molecular repair mask, which addresses bleach damage separately from the tonal correction TripleBright delivers.
Available now at Sephora, Space NK, Cult Beauty, Selfridges and Harrods.
