AKT Launches Fragrance Bodycare Extensions

AKT London's Everyday Encore Body Oil and Foaming Body Scrub will soon be available in three additional fragrance Scenes.

The new additions are SC.03 EXT. The Onsen, combining lavandin, vetiver and yuzu; SC.04 EXT. Halcyon Summers, with mint, pomelo and fresh tomato vine; and SC.05 EXT. Columbia Road, a warm floral of violet, amber and tonka. The Body Oil uses squalane and rosehip oil for a lightweight, dry-finish radiance, while the Foaming Body Scrub combines sugar and rice exfoliants with papaya enzymes to polish and smooth the skin.

The extensions bring three of the brand's most popular Scenes into its bodycare formats for the first time, allowing the full routine to be built around a single fragrance. The range currently spans six gender-neutral Scenes across a deodorant balm, body wash, oil, scrub and balm, all housed in plastic-free packaging.

The brand itself has an unlikely origin. Founders Ed Currie and Andy Coxon met performing in London's West End, where eight shows a week under hot lights and heavy costumes made the shortcomings of mainstream deodorants difficult to ignore. After three years of formulating in their Camden kitchen and testing on fellow cast members, The Deodorant Balm launched in 2020. A Kickstarter campaign set out to raise £15,000 and closed at £50,000, selling over 3,000 units in pre-sales.
