Roseway Labs Tretinoin 5% Gold Peel Mask

Roseway Labs has launched the Tretinoin 5% Gold Peel Mask, a short-contact tretinoin treatment for clinician-directed use that delivers the retinoid through a peel-off mask rather than a conventional leave-on cream.

The mask is applied for 20 to 30 minutes, creating a temporary occlusive environment that holds the active in contact with the skin, before being peeled away to give both targeted delivery and light physical exfoliation, an alternative to nightly leave-on tretinoin for patients who are hesitant to start a retinoid regimen or who have struggled with irritation and a way to build tolerance under clinical supervision before transitioning suitable patients to home retinoid therapy.

Because tretinoin is a prescription-only medicine in the UK, the mask is a prescription treatment rather than a cosmetic, dispensed as a compounded preparation on a prescriber's authorisation and requiring patient assessment by a qualified clinician. Roseway Labs stresses that daily broad-spectrum SPF 50 sun protection is essential and that protocols should be individualised to skin type, treatment goals and retinoid tolerance. Tretinoin itself is one of the most established topical retinoids, with a long evidence base in improving epidermal turnover, supporting collagen and regulating pigmentation; the newer element here is the short-contact peel-off delivery, which is the pharmacy's own approach.

Miriam Martinez Callejas, chief clinical pharmacist and co-founder of Roseway Labs, said the format gave clinicians another way to introduce the active. "The Tretinoin 5% Gold Peel Mask introduces a new way for clinicians to incorporate tretinoin into professional treatment plans, offering a controlled, short-contact application that can be tailored to individual patient needs," she said. "For patients who are hesitant to begin a nightly retinoid regimen, or who have experienced irritation with conventional leave-on treatments, it provides a valuable stepping stone."

Roseway Labs is a UK compounding pharmacy founded in 2018 by Elizabeth Philp and Miriam Martinez Callejas, supplying personalised and compounded prescription medicines to private clinicians across dermatology and other fields. The pharmacy suggests the mask can sit alongside other in-clinic modalities such as LED phototherapy and pigmentation programmes.

The Tretinoin 5% Gold Peel Mask is available to qualified medical and aesthetic professionals from the end of July.
