Fenty Beauty Shake ‘N Play Buildable Liquid Blush

Liquid blush is nothing new at this point, but Fenty Beauty's latest launch takes aim at one of the format's most common frustrations: the precision required to use it well. The Shake 'N Play Buildable Liquid Blush is designed to reduce the margin for error without compromising on colour payoff.

The packaging is the first thing that sets it apart. The bottle contains shaker beads that mix the formula before each use, ensuring consistent pigment distribution every time. The squish-tip sponge applicator is fitted with a built-in wiper that loads an appropriate amount of product onto the tip automatically, which addresses the all-too-common issue of applying too much in one go. The idea is that you shake, dot onto the cheeks, and diffuse.

“Life is busy. Sometimes you've got five minutes, sometimes you've got thirty seconds. I wanted a liquid blush that was actually easy to use," comments Rihanna, Founder, Fenty Beauty.

The formula is buildable, which means a single dot gives a sheer, natural-looking flush while additional layers allow for something bolder with a wear of up to 12 hours and a transfer-proof and waterproof finish.

Cucumber extract is included in the formula for a hydrating effect. The finish is blurring rather than sitting on top of the skin, with a formula that considers comfort as well as performance. The launch comes in five shades, with the range described as universally flattering. The selection spans from lighter peachy-pink tones through to deeper berry shades, covering a good spread of skin tones.
