Spa at Breedon Priory to Open with Exclusive ‘Hideaway’ Spa and Tranquillity Gardens

Derbyshire’s contemporary new Spa at Breedon Priory officially opens this summer following the completion of its Tranquillity gardens and exclusive private ‘Hideaway’ spa within spa.

The 3,400 sqm Spa at Breedon Priory is a spacious new luxury day spa located in Wilson, near the market town of Melbourne in Derbyshire which draws inspiration from its 24 acres of surrounding countryside to create an atmosphere of wellness.  The Spa, privately owned by locally born Elaine and Graham Blunt, has been constructed with sustainability and the environment as one of its core principles, and is particularly mindful when it comes to water with its own water source.

The Tranquillity gardens blend into the landscape offering spa guests a sanctuary to relax in year-round.  Features include a large Vitality pool and Infinity Relaxation pool as well as an outdoor terrace with luxurious loungers and cosy fire pit seated areas.  Guests can enjoy views over the wildflower pond while watching the antics of the home reared friendly ducks.

Recognising that some people prefer more privacy in spa, the Spa has created ‘The Hideaway’, an intimate area for two or a private spa for a group of four which includes exclusive treatments, a private lounge area, shower area, mini bar and a secluded enclosed terrace with hot tub, fire pit and luxurious lounger for two.

Other features in the main Spa include a Wellbeing Suite of six thermal experiences: experience showers, an ice fountain and cabins offering different strength heats.  There is also a Pure Relaxation

room where guests can watch the world go by, quiet Slumber Lounge for pure calm, and a relaxation room to enjoy post treatment tranquility. The Terrace Restaurant with floor to ceiling glass windows provides magnificent views over the spa garden and delicious food that makes the most of the seasons’ bounty and puts a spotlight on regional ingredients sourced from the finest of local suppliers.  Stylish interiors with statement lighting incorporate the peaceful tones of mother nature.

There are seven state of the art treatment rooms including one dual room where guests can enjoy a wide range of face, body and manicure/pedicure treatments from British brands: Temple Spa, Tribe517, Pinks Boutique and Proverb, all of which are seriously restorative and thoroughly feel good.  The spas signature treatments created by Tribe517 is the deeply relaxing Breedon Priory Celestial Massage.

Spa suppliers include Anapos for the thermal cabins, experience showers and ice fountain; Unique Pools for the pools; BC Softwear for the robes and towels; Curveline assisted with the interior design and Lush Garden Design were responsible for the spa garden.

Martyn Wood, Sales Director at Anapos said “We worked very closely with Graham and Elaine on the design and internal looks of the Thermal cabins. It was always important to blend the Himalayan Salt sauna into the building to encompass the view over the outdoor hydro-pool, the lake and the natural landscaped beyond. The Two Steam rooms were given different identities by using different colour lighting and different fragrances injected into the rooms to enhance the steam experiences. The central tear drop Ice fountain in the middle of the room gives a focal point to the suite and the waterfall shower experience just adds the extra dimension to a beautiful modern, light and open Thermal Spa offering. It was a real pleasure working alongside the whole team from conception to completion of this great spa facility, it is truly a Spa that must be visited.”
