Among the makeup trends for 2019/2020, the timeless "no makeup" look remains unchanged, but this time in an even more natural version than before. Fashionable now is not an excess of cosmetics, it’s even, bare skin, well-groomed strongly combed and subtly highlighted eyebrows. Lip gloss has made a return to favour for many, replacing their previously favourite matte lipsticks. You can be tempted by natural, without a gram of mascara eyelashes - in this place to add expressiveness, you can afford stronger lips or shimmery eyeshadows or even glitter on the eyelid. In this article I will advise on how you can achieve this look successfully.

The ‘no makeup’ look

It is irrational to start an article about makeup stating that most fashionable now will be its lack of. However, it is not about the lack of it, but about achieving such an effect by using the right cosmetics.

The trend of natural appearance is doing great. There are more and more discussions about the fact that a woman can be beautiful without makeup. Celebrities now more than ever show themselves in a natural way. Models appear on the covers of magazines with minimally emphasized facial features. It is also a response to the abundance of artificial faces and retouched bodies that have surrounded the industry for years, creating a false image of reality.

"No makeup" consists in covering imperfections while subtly emphasizing natural beauty. In such makeup, the most important factor is the use of a light foundation that masks skin imperfections and the use of a hydrating concealer under the eyes, which will successful cover any signs of fatigue. After applying these products, gently powder the skin with matting or illuminating powder. The powder should be always selected individually to suit the needs of our skin i.e. dry skin or oily. Then, subtly emphasise the eyebrows with shadows or a pencil and put some mascara on eyelashes. Then apply the highlighter on the cheekbones, it can also apply a small amount of the highlighter on the eyelids - instead of the eyeshadow, which enhances the look and really open up the eye area. When putting blusher on our cheeks - this seasons trend is definitely a coral shade, and then paint the lips with lipstick or lip gloss in a natural colour. If we give up the use of blush on the cheeks, we can, according to trends, paint the lips with a lipstick of a delicate pinky nude shade, perfect for every day.

Achieving glowy skin

Fashionable is bright, shiny, almost wet hydrated skin. I love the glow effect and I use it in almost every make-up - in my clients' occasional make-ups, photoshoots, and my daily makeup. However, remember not to exaggerate - we only light up the parts of the face that we want to highlight, i.e. the tops of the cheekbones, temples, cupid's bow and, of course, the neckline - I never skip it, because together with the face it should form a coherent whole.

Liquid highlighter can be combined with the foundation - applied in this way to the face and neckline beautifully illuminates them. This combination will also work well with body make-up.

The luminous complexion is no longer reserved only for big events or night outs. It is also worth remembering about illuminating the face in our everyday makeup routine.

Highlighter also gained massive popularity due to the so-called "glow" shown by famous people and top makeup artists. However, remember that taking care of your radiant complexion starts with good skincare. Some creams, serums or makeup primers contain ingredients appearing to brighten our skin from the inside out.

The basis is a well groomed, moisturised skin. Without it, the best makeup products will not look the way they should. How to easily transfer "glow" makeup elements to everyday makeup? The easiest and fastest way is to mix your favourite foundation with brightening droplets or apply a brightening base to your skin before applying the foundation.

There are so many available foundations and brightening powders on the market, which have shimmering particles - these products are perfect for the summer because by reflecting the rays of the sun they create the effect of freshly sunkissed skin. Remember not to overdo it with the amount of highlighter and always adjust the intensity of makeup to occasion.

Lip colour

Classic red, as always, is welcome on the lips. It is worth using red lipstick both for a complete make up and as the only accent on the face, leaving it in a natural version. Lip glosses return to favour, replacing matte lipsticks. We can only apply lip gloss to the lips, but with subtle makeup, expressive lips look beautiful, even in crazy, juicy colours.

In addition to the classics, there are also more extravagant proposals. Blue, black or burgundy lips are very expressive shades that appeared on the fashion catwalks and in collections of popular fashion houses.

For lip makeup, we can forget about lip liner, it's always best to apply lipstick with your finger to make it look slightly smudged. Fashionable colours are: orange, carmine, lip gloss with shimmering particles, chocolate and grey violet.

Eyes

When it comes to eye makeup, the makeup artists of the largest fashion houses suggest that glitter, pearl eyeshadow, and shimmering eyeliners can be worn even on a daily basis, but then they recommend giving up mascara or replace it with a neutral natural brown colour.

We often wonder what to emphasize: eyes or lips? I think that makeup should be tailored to the occasion, but also to how much time we have to do it. During the morning makeup, we don't have much time, so it's worth putting your lips on. Lipstick or lip gloss in your favourite colour can be applied very quickly, and our appearance will become expressive, even when eye makeup consists of only mascara. When applying evening make up, when we have more time in our hands, let's focus on a stronger eye, while lips, for balancing the whole, emphasize with subtle, natural colours to avoid the over-drawn look. Remember: less is more.

Bold brows and "wet" eyeshadows

Expressive eyebrows are definitely a hit of 2019/2020. Products such as brow pencils, brow pomades, and eyebrow gels should interest us. The eyebrow tattooing technique available in many beauty salons is becoming more and more popular as well.

Remember that the face frame is eyebrows. They are one of the most important elements in makeup. Thick eyebrows are simply combed and stacked with eyebrow gel. For thinner eyebrows, you can subtly complement the shape with a pencil or shadow.

When it comes to eyelashes, we focus on natural and taken care of, but with precisely applied mascara. If we use mascara - do not forget to brush them well at the end. I would also recommend using a liquid highlighter and a delicate blush cream - of course in a small amount. These cosmetics can be applied to the face and eyelids, and even the temple. The most natural effect is obtained by patting a small number of wet cosmetics with your fingertips.

The fashion for the "wet eyelid effect" promises to be interesting as well, thanks to eye shadows from the latest collections of leading brands.

Final touch

I'm talking about a setting spray. It extends the make-up durability and allows us to enjoy our make-up for longer. There are lots of kinds of settings sprays on the market these days- mattifying, hydrating, illuminating, etc. For a "glow and natural" makeup trend which I am talking about today, I recommend using hydrating or illuminating/glowy ones.

One more thing...

The advantage of this type of makeup is the ease of its creation. Really, compared to other looks, this makeup will not make you suffer for an hour. There are no heavy colours in it, you do not have to be able to do an winged eye or apply false eyelashes.

I think that this makeup trend will work for most of us, all you have to do is choose the right colours and products and most importantly take care of your skin!
