Cairndale Hotel's £2 Million Spa Revamp

The Cairndale Hotel in Dumfries, Scotland, is set to undergo a £2 million renovation project. This investment will transform the current leisure club into a luxury spa, named the Cairndale Spa, with the aim of attracting both day visitors and overnight guests looking for a wellness experience. The spa is expected to open in Spring 2024 and will offer a variety of treatments and wellness retreats.

The project has received approximately £400,000 in development funding from South of Scotland Enterprise (SOSE). The renovation is projected to create 16 new jobs and generate over £12 million in additional income for the local economy over the next decade. This development is seen as a significant contribution to the tourism and hospitality sector in Dumfries.

Environmental sustainability is a key focus of the renovation. Plans include the implementation of an enhanced heating system to reduce carbon emissions, the use of air-sourced heat pumps, and the installation of LED lighting.

The Wallace family, who have been managing the Cairndale Hotel for 40 years, have informed their leisure club members about the upcoming changes, including the closure of the current facilities on January 3rd. The new spa will feature treatment rooms, relaxation areas, and a spa cafe, designed to enhance the overall wellness experience.

This project represents a strategic effort by the Cairndale Hotel to expand its services and cater to the growing demand for high-quality spa and wellness facilities in the region.
