8 Cosmetology and Aesthetic Medicine Trends For 2024

Dr Sindhu Siddiqi, founder of No Filter Clinic shares her top 8 skincare and beauty trends that she expects to take over 2024. Dr Sindhu Siddiqi is the next generation of Aesthetic Practitioner. Focused on undetectable treatments and subtle tweaks, she has been a doctor since 2011 and graduated from the prestigious Imperial College London with a Distinction in Medicine. She undertook extensive training in Aesthetic Medicine whilst doing her GP training alongside and built her Aesthetics clinic in a completely organic way through word-of-mouth referrals. No Filter Clinic focuses on skin, bioregenerative medicine, and injectables, offering an expertly tailored approach to their treatment plans.

  1. Regenerative and holistic aesthetic medicine

We have noticed a wave of patients moving away from fillers, and opting for more holistic treatments that offer multiple skincare benefits, both inside and out. Treatments that I see being even more popular in 2024 include, collagen-stimulating PRF, polynucleotides (eg ameela, Plinest) and Sculptra. These treatments not only support the appearance of the skin but help regenerative cells, collagen, and skin health underneath – leaving skin looking more youthful. We also notice a huge difference when combining these with machine-based treatments, creating a bespoke and individualised plan, dependent on the patient's needs.

  2. Biohacking

Another holistic approach I see making it to 2024, is the focus on internal health and biohacking. With many people interested in improving their health and learning how to support its day-to-day functions, there has been a huge rise in interest in hormone balancing, functional medicine, gut microbiome, and genetic testing.

  3. Lasers vs Facials

Although your everyday skincare facials are excellent at treating specific skincare needs, many are looking into resurfacing lasers. By penetrating further within the skin, resurfacing lasers encourage collagen production and cell generation – making them more effective. This of course depends on the client's needs and state of skin.

  4. Ultrasound safety with fillers

Within recent times, we have become more aware of how long fillers last, and how their placement can affect longevity and safety. At No Filter Clinic, we offer complimentary ultrasound scans before all filler treatments. This is to ensure we are offering our patients the utmost standards and helping them feel more comfortable when it comes to injectables. I can see this taking place in more clinics across the country as we become more educated on the matter.

  5. Streamlined personalised skincare

Everything is about streamlining our beauty regimes right now. It's all about swapping a 10-step regime for an efficient and lower-maintenance one. Furthermore, every individual’s skin needs are different and there are already companies offering bespoke formulations with prescription ingredients. I can really see this furthering in 2024.

  6. AI in aesthetics

AI is becoming a huge talking point and supporting us in many more everyday scenarios, I think it will also come into play this year within aesthetics and medicine treatments. Predictive before and afters for patients will prove extremely useful for patients, so they can see exactly what their desired results may be before the treatment, This will also support practitioners offering further bespoke and holistic plans for patients, again, seeing what their predictive ‘after’ images may look like with certain treatments.

  7. Males seeking treatments

A rise I would love to see continue in 2024 is of men seeking regular Treatments. More than ever, we are being approached by male patients who are looking for subtle and natural toxins, fillers, and profile balancing treatments, These small Tweakments are very understated but make a huge difference when it comes to fine lines, balancing, and skin health. There is no reason why men should be left behind with aesthetics.

  8. Increase in body treatments

The weather in the UK doesn’t allow us to show our bodies so the emphasis has mainly been on the face. But with the rise of the wellness and gym industry, I predict there will be an increase in people seeking treatments to improve muscle quality, cellulite and accelerate fat loss.
