Aroma-Zone secures B Corp certification with 104.2 score

Aroma-Zone has secured B Corp certification and adopted purpose-driven company status, formally embedding social and environmental objectives into the French beauty and wellness business. The company achieved a B Impact Assessment score of 104.2, above the 80-point threshold under the framework used for its certification. The assessment covered governance, workers, community, environment and customers, examining practices across the business.

Alongside the certification, Aroma-Zone has written its purpose and four objectives into its articles of association. These cover reducing environmental impact, maintaining ethical and sustainable relationships with partners, supporting employee wellbeing and participation, and offering accessible products with transparent information to support informed consumption. A mission committee is responsible for monitoring the implementation of those commitments.

Sabrina Herlory, CEO of Aroma-Zone, said: “By becoming a Purpose-Driven Company and B Corp in 2026, we are affirming our desire to contribute to what we believe is most precious to preserve in society today: ‘Care’ and ‘Trust.’”

The changes follow a consultation process launched in 2025, involving employees, customers, partners and local representatives in Vaucluse, the company’s historic home region in France. That process helped formalise the purpose underpinning the business: enabling people to care for themselves with confidence.

Aroma-Zone’s operating model spans research and development through to distribution, with control over the value chain intended to support accessible pricing. Its product evaluation process includes internal laboratories, independent testing facilities and toxicologist assessments of ingredients, packaging and finished formulations.

Environmental priorities include reducing plastic use, improving the biodegradability of formulas, progressing a decarbonisation roadmap and supporting organic farming and agroecology programmes. The company’s commitments also extend to maintaining long-term, fairly remunerated relationships with growers and suppliers.

Aroma-Zone will publish an annual Purpose Report setting out progress against its commitments and identifying areas where further work is needed. Together, the reporting process and the objectives written into its articles establish a framework for tracking how those commitments are implemented.

The business began in 1999 with a focus on aromatherapy and essential oils, later expanding into cosmetic ingredients, DIY beauty and ready-to-use products. Its current offer spans skincare, haircare, supplements and essential oils. Aroma-Zone opened its first UK flagship at Westfield London in November 2025.
